“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” – Marcus Cicero, Roman philosopher.
We’ve all read at least one book in our lifetime. Maybe today is the day you either finish reading the one you have on the go or you pick up a new one to read on your deck during the summer.
Today is World Book Day. It’s an annual event to promote reading, publishing and copyright. It’s recognized every year on April 23, the birthdate of author William Shakespeare. Perhaps you’ve heard of him or read samples of his work.
World Book Day is also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and, of course, a celebration of reading.
We are all avid book readers at Martin Charlton Communications. We believe everyone has a story to tell, and those stories need to be shared.
Virtually endless amounts of information can be found in books – non-fiction, fiction, suspense, true crime, romance. You name it, there’s been a book written.
We understand reading is hard. Not the act of reading, but the pursuit of reading. There’s always something else to do — something easier like watching television, something louder like listening to your stereo, something that makes you feel better and something that makes you feel worse like social media.
But books are loyal. They’re always there when you need one. There’s no better day than today to pick one up.
